RHEEM EZ-LINK™

Available on all Rheem 2nd generation tankless water heater models, EZ-Link enables two tankless units to be wall-hung, side by side, and connected with a communication cable, so they can operate as a single water heater. For example:
- A customer with a four-bathroom home could install two RTG-53 series water heaters with an EZ-Link cable to meet his or her hot water demands.
- A Rheem tankless user building a new bath, kitchen or home addition would not have to replace the existing unit, but simply connect a second Rheem tankless water heater to absorb the additional hot-water demand – all without taking up an excessive amount of space.
“A typical tankless water heater is about 12 inches wide by 24 inches high, weighs about 50 pounds and can be mounted on either an interior or exterior wall, depending on the climate,” says Jim Cika, Rheem Specialty Water Heating Manager. “As a result, most spaces will be able to accommodate the additional unit relatively easily.”
For larger residential applications, the MIC-180 manifold control allows installers to link up to 20 Rheem tankless water heaters (all the same model) in a manifold configuration.

Rheem contest at Kitchen/Bath Industry Show proves connecting two Rheem tankless waters takes only seconds with its EZ-Link cable.
MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA (JUNE 18, 2007) — Tony Casillas visited the Rheem exhibit at the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (K/BIS) to learn more about Rheem Tankless Water Heaters, but he ended up winning one, too. Casillas, a product engineer with Product Solutions Inc. in Costa Mesa, California, posted the fastest time in the Rheem EZ-Link Contest during K/BIS, held May 8-10 in Las Vegas. The contest was designed to show how quick and easy it is to link two Rheem Tankless Water Heaters so they can function as one. Casillas made his connection in only 5.92 seconds, the fastest of any contestant at the three-day show.
The media joined in the fun as well. Alex Cheimets of ApplianceAdvisor.com in Arlington, Massachusetts, achieved a “best-in-class” time of 8.35 seconds. Like Casillas, Cheimets received a new Rheem tankless water heater and the cost of installation, up to $1,000.
